This silky, fast-absorbing blend combines antioxidant powerhouse astaxanthin with gentle retinol alternative, bakuchiol to help visibly smooth, brighten, and restore without the irritation often associated with traditional retinol products.
Astaxanthin is a naturally derived, deep red antioxidant sourced from microalgae. It is widely regarded as one of nature’s most powerful antioxidant compounds, helping to defend the skin against everyday environmental stressors such as sun exposure and pollution. Astaxanthin helps support a brighter, more even-looking complexion while improving the appearance of fine lines and overall skin tone. It is also known for helping calm and restore skin that looks stressed, tired, or depleted, supporting a more resilient, healthy-looking glow over time.
Bakuchiol is a plant-derived active extracted from the seeds of the babchi plant (Psoralea corylifolia) and is often called a gentle, botanical alternative to retinol. Clinical studies have shown it can deliver retinol-like results in improving the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, and uneven skin tone, while being significantly better tolerated with less irritation, dryness, and redness. It supports collagen production, improves firmness and elasticity, and helps refine skin texture, making it especially suitable for sensitive or reactive skin types.

How to Use: Apply 3–5 drops to clean, damp skin morning or evening. Can be used daily or every other day. Massage gently into face and neck as the final step of your skincare ritual.

Note: Allow the serum to fully absorb for at least 10 minutes before going to bed to help prevent product transfer onto pillowcases and ensure the active ingredients properly sink into the skin.

While I take great care to keep each batch of balm as consistent as possible, tallow is a natural ingredient and slight variations in texture can occur from batch to batch. Factors such as cattle breed, diet and forage quality, seasonal changes, climate etc. can all influence the final hardness and consistency of the rendered tallow.
Temperature also plays a role, if your balm becomes too cool it may feel slightly grainy, and if it becomes too warm it can soften or melt. This is completely normal for pure, minimally processed tallow and does not affect the quality, safety, or skin-loving benefits of the product.
