About Me

Hi, my name is Jessie. I’m a mom, a retired silversmith, a community herbalist, and a lifelong student of the earth. You can often find me in the kitchen cooking nourishing meals from scratch for my family, wandering the woods in awe of the medicinal plants and mushrooms that surround us, crafting skin-loving potions in my studio, or barefoot by the river with friends and family.

My journey with plants began over nine years ago, and in 2021 I deepened my studies by completing the Community Herbalist Diploma Program at Pacific Rim College. Since then, I’ve continued to hone my skills, weaving together traditional wisdom and hands-on practice.

I struggled with acne for years. Before my return to nature, I had tried every chemical skin cream under the stars, with no positive results. When I transitioned to a more natural lifestyle, my skin began to clear, and I discovered the power of crafting my own skincare. Today, my skin is healthier than it has ever been, and I feel immense gratitude that I can merge my love for plant medicine with my passion for natural skincare.

It is my hope that these body care offerings become a source of nourishment and care for you and your family. Creating them is an act of love, and it is truly my honor to share them with you.

Ingredient sourcing

At the heart of my work is a deep reverence for the earth which is a value I strive to reflect in every part of my process. I choose locally sourced ingredients whenever possible, support organic growers, and ethically wildcraft small amounts of plants with gratitude and reciprocity. Always taking only what’s needed and giving back to the land in return.

Our grass-fed and finished tallow is sourced from small family farms in the Comox Valley that prioritize ethical and regenerative farming practices. I have deep appreciation for the cattle who give their lives for our sustenance—nourishing our families with life-giving nutrients and providing the beautiful, nutrient-rich fats that are exceptionally beneficial for skin health. The lives of these animals mean so much to me, and it’s essential that they are given a good life, fed wholesome food, and treated with the respect they deserve. This is why I choose to work only with small family farms that share these same values.

Animal fats have been used in skincare for thousands of years. There is evidence to suggest that ancient civilizations such as the Egyptians applied rendered animal fats in salves, ointments and protective balms These ancestral practices were rooted in wisdom and our cells have evolved alongside these natural fats and recognize them as home. Tallow, in particular, mirrors the structure of our own skin’s oils, allowing it to absorb easily and deeply nourish on a cellular level.

It’s non-negotiable for me to use only the highest-quality, organic ingredients available. Every batch is crafted in small quantities to ensure ultimate freshness and potency. Unlike most store-bought skincare, which often sits on shelves for months (or even years) before reaching you.

My Mission

At Thaea Organic Skincare, my mission is to create effective, healing skincare that nurtures your skin through every stage of life from birth to maturity. I believe that radiant, healthy skin begins with simple, natural ingredients that support the body’s innate ability to heal. My goal is to help you and your family live healthier lives by avoiding the toxins and synthetic chemicals found in most conventional body care products.

Every offering that I craft is made with respect for people, animals, and the planet. By choosing organic and mindfully sourced ingredients, we not only care for our skin but also protect the earth and future generations. The choices we make each day and what we put on our bodies and send down the drain truly matter. Through my work, I strive to offer a beautiful alternative: skincare that is as kind to your body as it is to the earth.
